We strive for early diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of skin cancer. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. However, with early detection, most skin cancers can be successfully treated before they spread.

Skin Cancer Treatment

We offer various treatment options for skin cancer. Among the most common and effective are Mohs Micrographic Surgery and excisions.

Mohs Micrographic Surgery

Mohs surgery is the most advanced, specialized and effective treatment for most skin cancers. Based on the technique developed by Dr. Frederic Mohs, the method has been refined over 70 years. The procedure removes individual layers of cancerous tissues which are examined under a microscope to ensure accurate tumor removal. This maximizes the cure rate for skin cancer while providing the best cosmetic result.

Everything will be performed under local anesthesia to eliminate the systemic risks associated with general anesthesia. Patients will also recover from the procedure much faster.

Excision of Skin Cancers

Certain types of skin lesions may require only a standard excision. All excised tissues are evaluated by an outside lab to ensure complete removal of cancerous tissue. A follow up visit may be required if another layer must be removed.

Advanced Reconstruction

Dr. Chung is trained in the reconstruction following complex skin cancer and other skin surgeries. He has expertise repairing large and complicated defects.
