Welcome to the Vanguard Skin Specialists. You’re going to notice some changes in our dermatology and plastic surgery practice during coronavirus. We’re the same people, but we’re making the changes needed to keep you safe.

High priority visits and surgeries

At this time, we are only seeing essential, urgent, and high acuity conditions in office in Colorado Springs, Canon City, Pueblo, and Woodland Park. For routine or non-essential visits, please schedule a Vanguard Virtual Visit or postpone to May. Surgeries that can be delayed are postponed to mid-May or later, in accordance with the latest guidelines from the American Academy of Dermatology.

Welcome to patients only

Vanguard normally welcomes companions, but during this time, only patients, parents/guardians of minors, and POAs are allowed on site.

Pre-check

You may be getting a phone call from us before your dermatology or plastic surgery appointment to get your registration information, medications, and medical history. This limits the amount of time you have to spend in our office. We are also sending forms in advance to limit time at check in.

Check in

Pens and clipboards are disinfected before we hand it to you, by a front desk receptionist who is sanitizing hands.

Waiting Areas

Social distancing is practiced throughout Vanguard. Every chair in the waiting room is spaced at least 6 feet apart. We are also disinfecting waiting room chairs and surfaces every two hours.

No hugs or handshakes

We may greet you differently, but it doesn’t mean we care any less.

Exam rooms

Exam rooms are thoroughly disinfected between every patient including chairs, door knobs, light switches, and all counter surfaces.

Seeing your provider

We have less patients in office because we are only seeing essential, urgent, or high acuity appointments. Otherwise, have a Vanguard Virtual Visit with your favorite dermatology provider. We are providing appointments through video conferencing or through a phone call, preceded with photos. Here is Rachel Frederickson, PA-C getting ready to see her patients via video.
