Recently, Vanguard Skin Specialists has been fortunate to extend its services to the communities of Parker and Castle Rock. As part of our commitment to our patients, Dermatology care is now available at both locations, provided in part by two dedicated Vanguard team members, dermatologist Dr. Adam Vaudreuil and dermatology physician assistant Rachel Frederickson, PA-C.
This month we highlight the shared commitment of Rachel and Dr. Vaudreuil and explain some of the reasons why offering dermatology services to our new neighbors means so much to our mission of caring with impact.
Meet Dr. Adam Vaudreuil, Dermatologist in Castle Rock and Parker
Dr. Vaudreuil grew up in Colorado Springs. Always interested in the sciences, Adam’s interests eventually lead him to the study of medicine and, after a year spent working for a non-profit organization in India, he spent four years at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.
Dr. Vaudreuil specializes in both general and surgical dermatology and prides himself on the relationships he builds with his patients. As he puts it, “we strive to provide excellent dermatology care in a warm and welcoming environment.”
Meet Rachel Frederickson, PA-C, Dermatolgy PA in Castle Rock
After years of practicing medical and surgical dermatology in Chicago, Rachel Frederickson followed a lifelong dream of moving to Colorado in 2012—the same year she joined the Vanguard team.
Rachel’s resume includes a BS in cell anatomy and biology, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in physician assistant studies from Midwestern University College of Health Sciences, and (while an undergrad) spending two years working at a local hospital following her EMT certification.
As a dermatology physician assistant, Rachel specializes in various concerns and treatments of the skin, including skin cancer screenings and biopsies, acne, rosacea, eczema, and allergy testing for contact dermatitis and rashes.
When prompted with the question What does providing the best care look like, Rachel gave the following answer:
“It means that our team is committed to individualized, evidence-based medical care; that our patients with concerning skin lesions are seen quickly; that we have excellent communication with our patients concerning medications and biopsy results; and that we give our surgical patients our personal cell phone numbers in case they need to reach us. Providing the best medical care means we listen to understand so that we can work together with our patients to ensure the best outcome.”
