Surgical Excisions

Our dermatologists, Mohs surgeons, and plastic surgeons all have experience with surgical excisions including removal of cysts, atypical moles, and skin cancer. Depending on patient preference, we can schedule you with any of these providers. In certain cases, particularly if the excision may require general anesthesia, we would encourage scheduling with a plastic surgeon.

Reconstructive Surgery After Mohs Surgery

After skin cancer has been removed, a surgical defect remains that almost always requires repair. Patients may have the repair performed by the Mohs surgeon or by one of our plastic surgeons: Dr. David Archibald, Dr. James Banich, and Dr. Sabrina Brody-Camp. They are meticulous surgeons with extensive experience rebuilding and reconstructing significant defects. Their goal is to minimize the appearance of the scar and to retain or rebuild the natural appearance of facial or body areas.

Most reconstructive cases are performed in our office. Dr. Archibald, Dr. Banich, and Dr. Brody-Camp work closely with the Mohs surgeons so that patients can be treated on the same day in the same office. If the defect is extensive, however, the repair may need to be performed in a hospital operating room.
