Brayden Healey, DO
Board-Certified Dermatologist
Fellowship-Trained Mohs Surgeon
Dr. Brayden Healey is a dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon whose professional interests include skin cancer diagnosis and treatment along with various general dermatology conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, acne, and many others. Additionally, he has particular interest in rural dermatology and dermatologic surgery.
Dr. Healey earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Boise State University. He insisted on staying in the west for medical school and attended Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest in Oregon. During medical school, he was selected for a one-year teaching fellowship which was a highlight of his academic career.
Dr. Healey ventured out of the Northwest to complete his transitional year residency, dermatology residency, and finally his Mohs Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology fellowship at Trinity Health Ann Arbor (formerly St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor). He was honored to be selected as the resident of the year during his transitional year and the sole chief resident during his final year of dermatology residency.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Dr. Healey was raised in North-Central Idaho. Having grown up in a small rural community, he spent most of his early life fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, and much more. He met the love of his life during college, and they were married shortly before he started medical school. Dr. Healey and his wife, an elementary school teacher, were eager to grow their family, having three of their four children during his time in medical school. In Oregon, they loved the endless wineries and the costal beauty all quickly within reach.
While both Dr. Healey and his wife love the outdoors, mountains, and wineries of the west, they felt the path toward residency was best suited in Detroit, Michigan, where they moved in 2019. During their five years there, they found endless opportunities to explore the lakes, waterfalls and wonder that Michigan outdoors have to offer—the Upper Peninsula joined their shortlist of outdoor wonders!
When Dr. Healey saw Vanguard Skin Specialists was dedicated to both excellence in patient care and altruism to their community and beyond, he was eager to join. He and his family are delighted to be in Colorado Springs.
