Janette Fant, FNP-C

Janette Fant’s path to dermatology is guided by both personal experience and a love for connection. Early on, she noticed how persistent acne could affect confidence and self-image—a challenge she faced herself into adulthood. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and health from Queens University of Charlotte, she began her professional life as a 9th- and 10th-grade Spanish teacher. That experience ignited a passion for helping others communicate, learn, and grow.

In 2006, Janette entered the accelerated nursing program at the University of Southern Maine, obtaining her BSN in 2007. She then spent years as a travel RN—from Palo Alto to Washington, D.C.—sharpening her clinical skills and learning adaptability. Drawn to dermatology, she completed her MSN at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and became a nurse practitioner in 2018. Her dual background in clinical care and lived skin-health experience informs her empathetic approach.

In 2022, Janette moved with her husband to Colorado Springs, seeking wide-open skies, trail access, and a community of outdoor lovers. She joined Vanguard Skin Specialists and focuses on medical and aesthetic dermatology for patients from their 20s into their later years. Outside the clinic, Janette loves hiking, cross-country skiing, yoga, pilates, and exploring the outdoors with her young son and their two large dogs. She blends personal empathy with evidence-based skin therapy and believes every patient deserves to feel confident, heard, and comfortable in their skin.
