This is more information on your presumptive diagnosis.
- Seborrheic Keratosis. This is a benign growth. Treatment is not needed unless it causes pain or discomfort.
- Actinic Keratosis. This is a precancerous growth. We recommend treatment with liquid nitrogen to prevent it from becoming a skin cancer in the future. More details are here.
- Basal Cell Carcinoma. This is a skin cancer that is curable. Left untreated, this skin cancer can be destructive and can lead to death in rare circumstances. We recommend a biopsy in order to render a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan. More details are here.
- Squamous Cell Carcinoma. This is a skin cancer than can be very aggressive. Left untreated, this skin cancer can spread and lead to death. We recommend a biopsy in order to render a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan. More details are here.
- Dysplastic Nevus. This is an abnormal mole that may need to be surgically removed. We recommend a biopsy to render a definitive diagnosis and possible surgical treatment.
- Congenital Nevus. This is a normal mole. If it grows, bleeds, or changes in color in the future, a biopsy may be necessary to determine if treatment is needed.
- Melanoma. This is the most dangerous form of skin cancer, so please see your dermatologist right away. Left untreated, it could spread and lead to death. We recommend a biopsy in order to render a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan. More details are here.
- Mole or Nevus. This is a benign growth. If it grows, bleeds, or changes in color in the future, a biopsy may be necessary to determine if treatment is needed.
- No significant findings. We do not see anything that is concerning today. We recommend a total body skin exam with your doctor annually.
