Treatment Strategies for Warts
At Vanguard Skin Specialists, we approach wart treatment from both the medical and procedural sides. After assessing the type, location, size, and patient history, we may recommend over-the-counter therapies (such as salicylic acid treatments) combined with home care. For warts that do not respond or are in sensitive areas (face, feet, nails), we provide in-office procedural options, including cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen), laser treatment, cantharidin blistering agents, and other modalities. Because human papillomavirus (HPV) underlies wart formation, treatment often involves repeated sessions and close follow-up to reduce recurrence.
We also guide patients on preventive habits—such as avoiding picking, protecting skin from breaks, ensuring healthy immune support, and practicing good hygiene—as part of a complete treatment plan.
