So, what should you look for when choosing a dermatologist in Colorado? Look Beyond Location Convenience matters when it comes to healthcare. A dermatology appointment shouldn't require an all-day trip, especially when you need ongoing care or have a concerning spot that needs to be evaluated. Colorado's communities are spread out, and access to specialty care can vary depending on where you live. That's one reason Vanguard Skin Specialists has expanded beyond Colorado Springs and Pueblo to communities across Southern Colorado. With locations in Cañon City, Colorado Springs, Hugo, La Junta, Pueblo, and Woodland Park, we're bringing dermatology closer to the communities we serve. We go where others don't. We go where our patients are. Find a Team That Can Treat Your Skin Through Every Stage of Life Your skin changes throughout your life. You may need a total body skin exam annually, treatment for acne or eczema another, or evaluation of a new or changing spot later on. When choosing a dermatologist, look for a practice that can address a broad range of skin concerns and provide continuity as your needs change. Our team includes dermatologists, Mohs surgeons, dermatopathology, plastic surgeons, and advanced practice providers, giving patients access to a broad range of skin health expertise. Get to Know Your Provider The right dermatologist is someone you feel comfortable talking to and asking questions of. Experience and training matters, but so does the relationship you build with the person caring for your skin. Take some time to learn about the providers at a practice before your appointment. Understanding their backgrounds and areas of expertise can help you feel more comfortable with your choice. Meet the Vanguard providers Look for a Dermatologist Who Takes Concerning Changes Seriously One of the most important things to consider is how quickly you can be seen when something changes. A new or concerning spot can be unsettling. You may notice a mole that looks different, a spot that won't heal, or a change in your skin that you simply don't recognize. That's why Vanguard created the WOW Promise. If you have a new or concerning spot, we'll see you Within One Week. It's our commitment to timely care because your skin and peace of mind shouldn't have to wait. The WOW Promise isn't about assuming every concerning spot is skin cancer. It's about making sure you have an opportunity to have something unusual evaluated promptly by a dermatology professional. Find a Dermatologist Who Meets You Where You Are Finding the right dermatologist comes down to finding a practice that fits your needs, whether that's convenient access, specialized skin cancer care, treatment for an ongoing condition, or simply someone you can turn to when something doesn't look right. At Vanguard, our mission is to make a positive impact on our patients, our community, and our world. That mission is part of why we've continued expanding throughout Southern Colorado. From Colorado Springs and Pueblo to Cañon City, La Junta, Hugo, Woodland Park, and beyond, we believe where you live shouldn't determine whether you can access dermatologic care.
