Reconstructive Surgery After Mohs

After skin cancer is removed, a surgical defect remains that typically requires repair. Reconstruction can be performed by either the Mohs surgeon or one of our board-certified plastic surgeons. These surgeons are meticulous in their work and bring extensive experience in rebuilding and restoring areas affected by skin cancer. Their goals are to:

  • Minimize visible scarring
  • Preserve or restore natural facial and body contours
  • Achieve the most seamless, natural result possible

Most reconstructive procedures are performed in-office, allowing you to receive both cancer removal and reconstruction in the same location, often on the same day. Our plastic surgeons work closely with our Mohs surgeons to coordinate care and maximize your comfort.

In cases where the defect is larger or more complex, your procedure may be scheduled in a hospital operating room to ensure optimal safety and precision.
