Dr. Brayden Healey brings both world-class dermatologic expertise and a deeply rooted love for the outdoors and small-town community life to his practice. Raised in rural North-Central Idaho, he spent his childhood fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, and snowmobiling—early experiences that shaped his appreciation for rugged landscapes and quiet communities.
After earning a Bachelor of Science at Boise State University, he followed his passion for healthcare into medicine, earning his D.O. from Western University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest. During medical school, he was selected for a one-year teaching fellowship, an early indicator of his commitment to mentorship and education.
Dr. Healey then completed his transitional year and dermatology residency before pursuing a fellowship in Mohs Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at Trinity Health Ann Arbor, where he served as the sole chief resident in his final year.
In 2024, drawn to the high-altitude beauty and community-focused mission of Vanguard Skin Specialists in Colorado Springs, he joined their team, bringing his expertise in skin-cancer surgery and his heart for serving rural communities.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Healey lives with his wife (an elementary school teacher) and their four children, and he remains an enthusiastic traveler of mountains, lakes, and backcountry trails. Whether diagnosing a complex lesion, performing Mohs Micrographic surgery, or taking time to truly listen to a patient’s story, Dr. Healey is grounded in the belief that excellent medicine emerges from both skill and genuine human connection.
Dr. Healey enjoys getting out in nature with his wife and four children.
Dr. Healey enjoys woodworking in his spare time, with a particular interest in wine-barrel furniture.
In 2012, Dr. Healey served a college internship in the office of the United States Senator Jim Risch in Washington, DC.
