Bio

Growing up on a dairy farm in rural Maine, Emily Reynolds developed a strong work ethic early—helping with milking, maintaining the fields, and keeping up with the family farm while also playing sports and graduating salutatorian of her high-school class.

From there, she pursued a B.A. in Psychology and German at Furman University, where she also studied abroad in Germany and South Africa and earned her undergraduate degree cum laude.

After college, Emily spent four years in international public-health work—living in Afghanistan for a year and traveling through Southern Africa—where she discovered her calling to healthcare. She returned to the U.S., earned her Master of Nursing from the University of Massachusetts in 2010, practiced family medicine for several years, and then completed a rigorous two-year dermatology-NP fellowship at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center.

In 2016, Emily moved with her husband, Keith, to Colorado Springs and joined Vanguard Skin Specialists. She brings to her practice not only technical expertise in medical dermatology and skin-cancer care, but also a philosophy of treating the whole person. Emily has presented on various topics in dermatology at national nurse practitioner conferences and enjoys teaching and precepting NP students. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys mountain biking, skiing, gardening, and exploring the outdoors with her husband and son.

Emily’s approach to dermatology is grounded in her life story: from farm roots to public-health missions to expert clinician. She believes each patient deserves to be seen, heard, and empowered in their journey to skin health.
