Bio

Dr. Maria Sheron’s journey to dermatology began not in a hospital, but in a corporate office. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Human Development with distinction from Cornell University, she spent several years working in human resources—mentoring, training, and managing teams in Philadelphia. That experience, though far from clinical, shaped her understanding of people, communication, and leadership. It also reaffirmed her deeper calling: to pursue medicine and connect with patients in a more personal way.

She returned to the classroom through a post-baccalaureate program at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine, where she graduated with honors and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Sheron completed her dermatology residency at the Cleveland Clinic, training alongside nationally recognized specialists in complex medical and surgical dermatology.

In 2019, she joined Vanguard Skin Specialists in Colorado Springs, drawn by the practice’s emphasis on compassion, community service, and excellence in patient care. Dr. Sheron treats both adults and children, with a special interest in acne and skin cancer detection and prevention. She is known for her calm demeanor, meticulous approach, and ability to make patients feel heard and at ease.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Sheron enjoys traveling and eating her way through new cities, cooking adventures, and good wine. She is the happiest when spending time with her family, friends, and husband, Brian, and their loveable Border Terriers, Nori and Ruby. Whether she’s treating a complex skin condition or hosting friends for dinner, Dr. Sheron brings the same warmth, curiosity, and thoughtfulness to everything she does.
