Bio

Dr. Ryan Lawrence’s path to dermatology blends academic excellence, outdoor passion, and service to others. Raised in Georgetown, Texas, he spent his childhood playing baseball, fishing, camping, and hunting—experiences that fostered a love of nature and the human body’s connection with the outdoors.

At Texas A&M, he pursued microbiology, graduating summa cum laude and earning “Outstanding Biology Graduate” honors. His undergraduate research isolated novel antibiotics, laying a strong scientific foundation.

He earned his M.D. at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he served as president of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. After an internship in internal medicine, he completed his dermatology residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, becoming Chief Resident in his final year.

In 2023, Dr. Lawrence and his wife, Erika, relocated to Colorado Springs to join the team at Vanguard Skin Specialists. He brings not just clinical skills but a philosophy: treating each patient with the same care and thoroughness he would for family. When off-duty, you’ll find him hiking Colorado’s trails, skiing, fishing, scuba-diving, homebrewing craft beer, gardening, playing pickleball, and crafting traditional Texas BBQ—underscoring his belief in wellness for skin, body, and life as a whole.

Dr. Lawrence and his wife recently welcomed their first child and are overjoyed to begin this new chapter as parents.
