Tamara Frederick grew up in the Chicago suburbs, where summers camping, fishing, and hiking sparked both a love for the outdoors and an early sense of care for health and wellness. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Valparaiso University, she and her husband relocated to Iowa for her first experiences in health care, working as a CNA and cardiac telemetry monitor, before pursuing her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Augsburg College in Minneapolis.

She entered dermatology in 2016 and joined Vanguard Skin Specialists in 2021, drawn by the opportunity to practice in Colorado—near the mountains and outdoors she loves—and to focus on skin conditions across the lifespan, from acne to skin-cancer screening and treatment.

Now living in Colorado Springs with her husband and their three daughters, Tamara combines her personal passion for nature with her professional desire to help patients feel their best. Whether she is diagnosing a chronic dermatitis, reviewing a mole, or educating a family on sun protection, her goal is clear: to provide patient-centered, thoughtful dermatologic care rooted in listening, respect, and the confidence that every patient deserves to feel seen and supported.
