Your Wedding Day Skincare Timeline

Your Wedding Day Skincare Timeline

By Ally Turner, Aesthetician

Your wedding day is one of the most photographed days of your life. The key to achieving that bridal glow isn’t trying something new at the last minute—it’s planning your wedding day skincare timeline ahead of your big day.

Whether your wedding is months away or just around the corner, there are safe, low-risk aesthetic treatments that can help your skin look radiant, healthy, and photo-ready.

Here’s a general guide to what treatments you might consider based on how far away your big day is.

Skin Prep 6+ Months Before the Wedding

If you’re more than six months away from your wedding, you have the most flexibility to address larger skin concerns and build a long-term plan with one of our aesthetic experts. This is the ideal time to discuss treatments that improve overall skin quality and stimulate collagen production.

Treatments to consider:

  • LimeLight IPL for evening tone and reducing redness and pigmentation
  • Laser hair reduction which is often completed over several treatments spaced several weeks apart

This is also a great time to begin a series of DiamondGlow® treatments. Spacing treatments about every four weeks can help exfoliate the skin, clear pores, and infuse hydrating serums to gradually improve skin clarity and brightness leading up to the big day.

Starting early also allows time for multiple sessions and gradual improvement, giving your skin plenty of time to heal and glow naturally.

Skin Prep 3–6 Months Before the Wedding

At this stage, the focus shifts toward refining your results and maintaining healthy skin. This is a great window for treatments that enhance skin tone and clarity while still allowing time for healing if needed.

Treatments to consider:

  • DiamondGlow® treatments to maintain exfoliation and hydration
  • Microneedling for improving skin tone, texture, and elasticity

Consistency with medical-grade skincare also becomes especially important during this phase to maintain progress.

Skin Prep 1–3 Months Before the Wedding

With your wedding approaching, it’s best to stick with treatments that have predictable results and minimal downtime. This phase is all about enhancing your natural glow and keeping your skin calm and balanced.

Treatments to consider:

About a month before your wedding can be a great time to consider Botox® treatments to help soften expression lines and create a smooth, refreshed appearance in photos.

Because everyone’s facial anatomy and goals are different, it’s best to discuss timing with your provider. Our experts can help determine the ideal treatment schedule to ensure you’re looking your best on your wedding day.

Skin Prep the Week of Your Wedding

If your wedding is just days away, focus only on treatments with no downtime and very low risk. At this point, the goal is simply to make your skin look refreshed and radiant.

Consider:

  • DiamondGlow® treatment 1–3 days before the wedding for gentle exfoliation and a healthy glow
  • Dermaplaning 2–5 days before the wedding to remove peach fuzz and lightly exfoliate the skin so makeup applies beautifully

Avoid any treatment that could cause irritation, redness, or peeling.

The Most Important Bridal Skincare Tip

The most important step in preparing your skin for your wedding is consulting with a qualified dermatology provider or medical aesthetician early in the process. Everyone’s skin is different, and a personalized plan can help ensure you get the best results safely and at the right time. Planning ahead allows you to enjoy the process—and walk down the aisle feeling confident in your skin.

At Vanguard Aesthetics, digital skin consultations are always FREE. Call us ay 719-579-5555 or schedule online today. We’d love to customize a treatment plan to get you ready to walk down the aisle.
